Born in Istanbul on November 5, 1977, Murat Evgin studied primary school at Nurettin Teksan Primary School, high school at İstek Vakfı Belde High School, and university at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Radio-TV-Cinema department. After graduating from university, he attended the Intensive Film Workshop course at New York University. Murat Evgin, who started his professional music career by appearing on stage with his guitar for the first time in 1993 at Erol Evgin’s 25th Art Year Concert at AKM, played with various bands during his school years. He continued his music studies in foreign countries such as England (1992 and 1996) and America (1993).
Between 1996 and 1999, he played the songs from his album “Beni Ellere Verdin” to people from all over the world, and gave new forms to his songs in the light of the different ideas and criticism he received. Murat Evgin, who “Rocks like a Turk” in his own words, was featured on Turkish television as well as on the famous European music channel MCM. An interview with the artist, the video for “Beni EllereVerdin” and the concert he gave in Istanbul were shown in the “Generation Europe” program.
Murat, who has been the subject of articles by writers such as Hıncal Uluç, Can Ataklı, Lale Barçın İmer, Güngör Uras, Tufan Türenç, Ruhat Mengi, Nazlı Ilıcak, has given more than 500 concerts in Turkey, Germany and the USA since 1999.

In 2003, he released his own songs, II. Murat Evgin, who released his album “İnan Bana”, started his first attempts as a music video director and started working on TV competition and TV series music with this album. His TV series soundtracks (Arka Sokaklar, Sahra, Acemi Cadı, etc.) were broadcast on national channels of many Middle Eastern and Balkan countries.
He released his 3rd album “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” in 2005. In the music video for the martyr song from the album, the doyen of Turkish cinema, Hülya Koçyiğit, played the role of the martyr’s mother. All income from the copyright of the song is donated to the Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation.
He released the album “A Completely Different City” in 2008. His standout work was the Letter clip with Pelin Batu in this album. PTT celebrated its 168th anniversary with the song Letter.
In 2010, he released his single “Umut Yolcuları” for the benefit of children pushed into crime. The song tells the feelings of a child pushed into crime from his own perspective. In the same year, he composed the music for the TV series “Umut Yolcuları” (Producer: Türker İnanoğlu, Cast: Yetkin Dikinciler, Zuhal Olcay, Sedef Avcı), which was broadcast on Star TV.
In 2011, she released one of her most popular songs, Today You Are Married. The song was talked about a lot with its different video clip.
Murat Evgin, who released the album “Arka Sokaklar TV Series Music”, one of the most popular TV series music albums in 2012, included 43 of the over 250 works he composed for the TV series in the album.
In 2013, his song “Ölümsüz”, which had the first music video shot underwater in Turkey, was released, and in 2013, his song “Slow Down Life” (single), in which he emphasized the importance of living in the moment and whose video was shot in India, was released.
A Completely Different City, You Gave Me Into Your Hands, Father-Son, I’m Getting Married, Martyr, Yesterday Today Tomorrow, I Miss You, You Should Have Been With Me, Immortal, Slow Down Life are among the best-known compositions of Murat Evgin, who continues the songwriting tradition in our country.
