Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow (2005)

Considered one of Murat Evgin’s most important albums, “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” consists of hits such as Martyr, Yesterday Today Tomorrow, Missed, Bir Güzele Uruldum, You Should Have Been With Me. The first music video of the album is for “Martyr”, in which the martyr mother is played by the doyen of Turkish Cinema, Hülya Koçyiğit. The copyright income of the song is donated to the Mehmetçik Foundation. The much-talked-about clip appears in newspapers and news bulletins. Some music channels are reluctant to broadcast the clip while broadcasting it. Takvim newspaper criticized the Martyr’s music video for not being broadcast by some channels and wrote in the headline “Censorship for the Martyr!” The news attracts a lot of attention. The song is breaking records on YouTube. It is used in many TV series and movies. Proving that Murat Evgin is a composer capable of composing a folk song, “Martyr” takes its place in Turkish Pop Music as a song that tells a bitter truth of our country. The series, broadcast in many countries in the Middle East and the Balkans, is a turning point in Murat Evgin’s career.
